WinField United Product Manager Ryan Moeller sees a lot of potential with this year’s sunflower crop. “A good chunk of that crop was put into pretty good moisture and we’ve had timely rains,” said Moeller. “We’re not seeing a lot of disease yet and for the most part, that sunflower crop looks like it is going to be a good one.” There are sunflower fields that look like they have a poor stand, but it is cutworm damage. Spring wheat is also doing well across the Northern Plains. “It was a great start to the year with that cool weather and the wheat crop looks really, really good.” Moeller was featured in the WinField Solutions Answer Plot Innovation Tour near Wilton, North Dakota on Wednesday. This is the third growing season on this site with research focused exclusively on diverse crops, like spring wheat, canola, field peas and alfalfa. Listen to the full interview with Moeller.
