The National Sunflower Association is praising the new budget reconciliation bill for including key provisions that benefit sunflower growers. “Overall, the big beautiful bill was a good package for sunflower. Our reference prices were addressed, loans were addressed, crop insurance, trade programs,” said NSA Executive Director John Sandbakken. He also acknowledged the efforts of North Dakota Senator John Hoeven. “We worked really hard here for at least the last two, three years trying to get a farm bill put together and I just really have to credit Senator Hoeven and his staff for getting it into the vehicle that they did to get things passed.”
