Kansas-based Bebermeyer Farms is finishing up the winter wheat harvest in eastern Colorado. Owner Tedd Bebermeyer says the harvest was successful despite some rainfall. “It went pretty quickly and had decent yields right in the 40 to 45 bushels per acre range.” Quality and protein were a different story. “Test weights were down in the 57 to 58-pound range, and I didn’t see anything over eight or nine percent for protein. It wasn’t that good.” The next stop for Bebermeyer’s crew is Nebraska.
