Bell Bank is hosting its AgViews Live Conference for the 11th straight year. Senior Vice President and Director of Agribusiness Development Lynn Paulson says the farm economy is on two different tracks. The grain and soybean farmers are struggling with low prices, while the cattle market is doing well. “The reality is that farmers aren’t going broke, but the old adage is they’re asset-rich and cash-poor,” said Paulson. “Most businesses don’t fail because they go broke, they go out of business because they run out of cash.” Land prices will also get attention at the Bell Bank events. “Have they peaked? Are they going to soften? I would say there might be a correction, I don’t think there’s a crash coming.” Virginia Tech Professor Emeritus Dr. David Kohl will join Paulson. This conference will be July 21st in Fargo; July 22nd in Mankato and July 23rd in Wisconsin Dells. Listen to the full interview.
