Enlist is the #1 soybean herbicide trait in the nation with 65 percent market share. There is also a strong adoption rate of Enlist technology in corn. Is that a potential resistance issue? Corteva Agriscience Crop Protection Technical Lead Eric Scherder stresses Enlist shouldn’t be used in corn in the same way it is done in soybeans. “Approximately 25 percent of the corn market receives dicamba annually,” said Scherder. “The older technology dicamba and even the new technology have shown that it can move off target. If seven out of ten fields next to your corn are soybean fields, wouldn’t it make sense just to remove that dicamba out of corn and bring in a safer alternative? That’s how I would use it on corn.”
