North Dakota Stockmen’s Association Executive Vice President Julie Ellingson praised the Big Beautiful Bill and the inclusion of many farm bill policy priorities. “In the Livestock Indemnity Program, there’s recognition of the value of an unborn animal so when a bred animal is lost and would be eligible for the LIP, it assigns a value to the calf that she’s carrying,” said Ellingson. “That’s a big change and a big improvement.” Ellingson was part of the ag roundtable event hosted by Senator John Hoeven.
