Workers at the Tyson Foods beef plant in Amarillo, Texas, have voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike. The local Teamsters union, representing about 3,100 employees, approved the move by a 98 percent margin, demanding higher wages and better benefits. The Amarillo facility processes around 6,000 cattle a day, making it one of Tyson’s largest operations.
