There are no major concerns with the potato crop in the Northern Plains. Extension Potato Agronomist Andy Robinson says there was some yellowing of the plant leaves when the region was dealing with cool temperatures and smoke from the Canadian wildfires. “It does slow down the amount of cellular production and sometimes we may get a little less chlorophyll, so you may see a bit more of a yellowing or light green in your leaves,” said Robinson. “I think that’s what happened to a lot of plants.”
