Chad Willis, who farms east of Willmar, received six-and-a-half inches of rain Thursday and Friday. A few miles to the southeast received ten-to-15 inches. “We had a great planting season; we were looking forward to a good growing season, but then Mother Nature threw a wrench into it. That’s all part of farming.” The heavy rains have raised questions about nitrogen losses. “It’ll be similar to last year. We were in a real wet area last year, and it really showed up on our corn yields in the fall.”
