Starbuck, Minnesota farmer Paul Freeman is optimistic about this year’s crop after a swift planting season. “The later planted stuff got delayed a little bit with the rain, but when you make a living off of rain and sunshine, you don’t complain.” Freeman added that the recent rain was beneficial, but with dry winter conditions, more moisture will be needed in the coming weeks.
