Nearly all of the crop is planted in the Wyndmere, North Dakota area in the southeastern corner of the state. After two-to-four inches of rain this past week, Carson Klosterman says the focus now shifts to post-emergence weed control. “There were probably plans for pre-emerge, but the way the wind was blowing and the three hot days after Mother’s Day and before all this rain started didn’t allow that to happen,” said Klosterman. “We’ll need a number of good days to get things dry so everybody can get out and do post emerge spraying.”
