‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ Passes at Committee Level

After a marathon all-night session, the House Ways and Means Committee approved a tax package that extends many of the 2017 tax cuts. The bill passed on a party-line 26-19 vote. For agriculture, the bill includes permanent estate tax relief, an extension of the pass-through business deduction known as Section 199A, and an extension of the 100 percent immediate expense deduction. House leadership wants to pass the bill by Memorial Day.
