North Dakota farmers made planting progress with 4.8 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending April 27. Topsoil moisture was 43 percent short to very short, while subsoil moisture was 45 percent short to very short. Spring wheat planting reached 19 percent, durum 17 percent, and corn 7 percent—all ahead of average. Soybeans were 2 percent planted, and sugarbeets 31 percent.
