A federal appeals court has rejected an attempt by Food and Water Watch, the Center for Biological Diversity and other activist groups to tighten the regulations for large animal feeding operations. These groups claimed the EPA acted in an arbitrary and capricious way when denying their petition. The Ninth Circuit Court, which is in San Francisco, disagreed. Ag groups, including Farm Bureau, National Pork Producers Council and U.S. Poultry and Egg Association, were interveners in the case.
