In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Bayer CEO Bill Anderson said the company will need to decide within a matter of months if it will continue to make Roundup herbicide. Anderson cited the financial impact of ongoing litigation. The company has paid out more than $10 billion in legal settlements. That’s after Bayer acquired Monsanto in 2018 for $63 billion. The lawsuits claim glyphosate causes cancer, but Bayer emphasizes that it is not backed by science.
