The North Dakota Senate passed House Bill 1318 on a 29 to 18 vote, aiming to shield pesticide manufacturers from lawsuits if their products carry EPA-approved labels. Supporters say the bill provides legal clarity and supports the use of science in modern farming. “The only way we can do it is through enhanced scientific methods, and that’s why most of us farmers are concerned about this issue,” said Senator Terry Wanzek. Opponents argued the bill strips North Dakotans of their right to seek justice.
