A late March snowstorm brought much-needed moisture to south-central North Dakota, easing drought concerns for Cleveland area farmer Ryan Wanzek. “We were starting to get nervous about moisture issues and probably, honestly, kept us from doing something stupid by going out in the field and doing something we shouldn’t have.” Although some spring wheat was planted before the snow, most fieldwork remains on hold. “The conditions in the field were actually really good, it was just the ground was so cold.” Wanzek expects planting to pick up in the upcoming week.
