Bipartisan Support for USDA Office of the Special Investigator

A bill has been introduced in the Senate to create a special investigation office within USDA’s Packers and Stockyards division. This office would address competition issues within the meatpacking industry. Similar legislation was introduced in 2022 and 2023. North Dakota Senator John Hoeven and South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds are co-sponsors of the bill.
