Grassley Calls for Congressional Approval for Tariffs

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley introduced a bill that would require congressional approval for any new tariffs. Grassley, who is Republican, did not criticize President Trump’s tariff trade policy. However, Grassley said the Constitution gives Congress authority over trade issues and abandoned that power over time.
