USDA’s Emergency Commodity Assistance Program (ECAP) payments will be issued as approvals are processed, but initial payments will be reduced by 85 percent to prevent exceeding available funding. USDA Deputy Under Secretary Brooke Appleton said, “More details and online tools are available on the Farm Service Agency website. We encourage producers to visit the site and utilize the available resources to understand how these payments will be distributed.” The adjustment ensures a fair distribution of funds among eligible producers, with additional disbursements possible as applications are reviewed. Appleton reassured producers that payments would continue as approvals are finalized.
