Sugarbeet growers were kicking tires and checking out the new technology at the International Sugarbeet Institute. They’re also preparing for the busy season ahead. Red River Valley Sugarbeet Growers Association Executive Director Harrison Weber said his members have been doing their chores in Washington, D.C. “We’re just coming off of three weeks or 12 business days of 320 office visits on the Hill and 85 fundraisers, meeting with members from all across the board, urban, rural, Republican, Democrat, doesn’t matter, we’re trying to make friends out there. Our message is clear, our priorities one through five are we’ve got to get this farm bill done and we’ve got to get it done now.”
