The Minnesota House returns to a 67-67 split today. A Democrat won Tuesday’s special election in the north metro. Under a power-sharing agreement reached in early February, Republican Lisa Demuth remains the House speaker for the next two years. However, both parties will have equal representation on most committees with co-chairs taking turns at the helm. Sixty-eight votes are needed to pass budget bills, forcing collaboration between Republicans and Democrats.
