Bill Davis, CEO, Oklahoma Ag Credit, addressed the ongoing challenges facing the agricultural economy at the National Farmers Union Convention in Oklahoma City. Davis expressed concerns over the financial struggles many sectors face, particularly with the cost of production stuck below break-even for many commodities. “For some producers, we’re in the second or even third year of unprofitability in those spaces,” Davis said, highlighting that while the cattle market is thriving, many other areas are not as fortunate. He also noted that real estate values, though stable in some areas, are starting to decline, a key indicator of broader economic health.
