Spring crop insurance baselines are established during the month of February. “Usually, the last two weeks of February we tend to see a dropoff with that crop insurance price,” said Jim Emter, president, Van Ahn and Company. “We tend to see seasonal pressure for corn and wheat markets at the end of February and early March and pick up on rally potential thereafter; we’re fighting right through the seasonal pressure and that’s encouraging to see.”
