The NDSU Saddle and Sirloin Club paid tribute to former NDSU Extension Veterinarian and Livestock Stewardship Specialist Gerry Stokka over the weekend, recognizing him as the Agriculturalist of the Year. “My main goal and purpose has always been to talk about the importance of livestock, and for me, that’s primarily cattle, for the economy and also the people that take care of them,” said Stokka. “We’ve done a lot of other things at NDSU, K-State and elsewhere; it’s been an interesting ride and I don’t think it’s over yet.” The recognition was part of the NDSU Little International.
