The use of Chinese-made drones has put some state agencies at risk of losing federal funding. The North Dakota Legislature is seeking to support domestic drone technologies. “House Bill 1038 seeks to help those state agencies that are in the predicament of procuring new equipment so as these federal bans come out they’re not in a position of being disqualified from receiving federal funds,” said Erin Roesler, deputy director, Northern Plains UAS Test Site. “It’s also an opportunity for us to safeguard our government data because there are vulnerabilities with these Chinese products.”
