President Trump’s nominee to be U.S. trade representative defended the administration’s tariff policy during his confirmation hearing. Jamieson Greer, who was the chief of staff for former U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, said the United States needs to use all of its tools to expand markets. Greer also said China didn’t meet all of the obligations of the Phase One trade agreement and enforcement protocols need to be utilized.
