According to a new report from CoBank, avian influenza is not the only reason egg prices have skyrocketed. The report said the demand for cage-free eggs has outpaced supplies in recent years. More than 120 million of the table egg layers in commercial flocks are from cage-free production systems. That compares to just 30 million in 2015.
