The South Dakota Farm Bureau is planning a lobbying trip to Washington, D.C. in March. Executive Director Krystil Smit describes this fly-in as historic for the South Dakota Farm Bureau with over 50 members going to Washington. “Folks in D.C. need to hear from people putting into practice the regulatory things happening on the farm; seeing those faces and hearing from them directly is really important,” said Smit. “That will be happening the week of National Ag Week so there’s no better time for our folks to be in D.C. and talking about agriculture.” Smit says interest in the new administration helped drive the energy for this fly-in.
