In his confirmation hearing, Commerce Department nominee Howard Lutnick said Canada and Mexico can avoid the across-the-board tariffs if they stop the movement of fentanyl into the United States. The deadline is looming with Saturday seen as the start date for 25 percent tariffs on products from Canada and Mexico. Lutnick also said he wants to improve U.S. access to Canada’s dairy market.
