House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson did not give a timeline for the farm bill, but said it would happen sooner rather than later. “The longer we wait into the fall, the more likely we’re going to have to come back next December and ask for more economic disaster relief,” said Thompson. “Producers don’t want that and we don’t want to do that; we won’t have to do that if we get this farm bill that has such a strong safety net component in it passed sooner than later.”
