With the ongoing threat of avian influenza, USDA is rebuilding its stockpile of bird flu vaccines. The Agriculture Department made a similar decision during the outbreak in 2014 and 2015, but it was never used. Those vaccines were thrown out after their shelf life expired after two-to-three years.
