Seed selection can have a dramatic impact on yields and a farmer’s bottom line. CROPLAN Market Activation Manager Robert Cossar says choosing the right seed is about more than just performance. “It’s all about yield, It’s about bushels across the scales, as I like to say.” Cossar thinks farmers shouldn’t let low commodity prices affect the seed selection process. “When we have low commodity prices, it’s easy to pull back to protect the cash flow, but we know that if you start pulling back to lesser-yielding genetics, then you give up cash on the back side.”
