The temporary funding plan that finally passed Congress avoided the potential government shutdown. “What I would really like to do is pass some sort of legislation that prevents a government shutdown from ever happening by having an automatic trigger that brings automatic cuts, “said North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer. “A continuing resolution that kicks in automatically with a one percent across the board cut.” Cramer believes it would incentivize members of Congress to get their work done on time.
