Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced plans to ban domestic production of biotech corn. The announcement follows a unanimous ruling by a USMCA panel that declared Mexico’s 2023 ban on U.S. GMO corn imports an unjustified trade barrier. “The science is there; this is safe, this is good, this is how we can produce more food for the world in a timely manner,” said Andrew Mauch, president, North Dakota Corn Growers Association.
