North Dakota no longer needs ID tags for young female cows under 18 months old or tuberculosis tests for dairy cows from safe states. This change is because new federal rules will require electronic ID tags, but there aren’t enough tags available. Older female cows used for breeding still need ID tags and a health certificate to enter the state.
