USDA has announced the second round of states participating in its National Milk Testing Strategy. Seven states were added to the 13 original states being tested. The Agriculture Department requires raw unpasteurized milk samples to be tested for the H5N1 virus. At this point, Minnesota, South Dakota or North Dakota are not part of the surveillance effort.
