Congress is scheduled to wrap up the session on Friday. Democrats and Republicans remain at odds about the farm bill extension and a farm assistance package. Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Debbie Stabenow, who is retiring at the end of the session, wants to reallocate $14.5 billion in remaining Inflation Reduction Act money to the farm bill baseline. House Speaker Mike Johnson does not support that effort. Democrats and Republicans are also at odds over the size of the farm relief bill called the FARM Act.
