The DFL has a razor-thin one-seat majority in the Minnesota Senate while the House is evening divided between Democrats and Republicans. Agricultural lobbyist Cory Bennett said everyone is trying to understand how this scenario working. “This is my 34th legislative session and I’m going to be going in and figuring it out with everybody else that has been there for one day; it’s going to be a very unique session.” The House committees will have co-chairs, a Democrat and a Republican, and equal representation from each party.
