Preliminary survey results from the Apiary Inspectors of America, Auburn University and the University of Maryland found significant honey bee colony loss. From April of 2023 to April of 2024, beekeepers nationwide lost an estimated 55 percent of their managed honey bee colonies. That’s the highest loss rate since this survey began in 2010. The reported losses in North Dakota approached 56 percent. Minnesota had over 75 percent loss.
