During the Minnesota Canola Symposium, Minnesota Canola Council Executive Director Beth Nelson announced USDA’s Risk Management Agency has approved 22 additional counties for federal crop insurance on canola. “I want to be sure that growers outside of those 22 counties realize that they could do written agreements if they’re having trouble with that, call the (Minnesota Canola) Council office and we can help them with that,” said Nelson. “Bankers were telling people in some of these other counties that we added, why don’t you try something else because canola doesn’t have a very good safety net in your county. We’ve taken care of that.”
