Retaliation Threat

Retaliation is likely if President-Elect Donald Trump moves forward with his proposed 25 percent tariffs on products from Mexico and Canada. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said she will respond with higher import taxes on U.S. products. Mexico’s economic minister said nearly 90 percent of the pickups sold in the United States are made in Mexico and would see a significant price increase. The economy minister emphasized the importance of those pickups in the rural areas that voted overwhelmingly for Trump.
