The ballot measure dealing with carbon pipelines in South Dakota was rejected by voters. Hand County Commissioner Jim Eschenbaum helped lead the effort against Referred Law 21 and said this was an issue for the Legislature. “They’ve misleadingly called it the Landowner Bill of Rights, nothing could be farther from the truth. It is the Summit Carbon Solutions Bill of Rights.” Eschenbaum said opponents to the proposed pipeline dodged a bullet, but the fight isn’t over.
