The harvest across eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota went fast. “Maturity, in some cases, came on so quickly that some corn dried down to 13 to 14 percent moisture,” explains Kevin Sinner, field agronomist, Pioneer. There weren’t many disease or insect issues for Sinner’s region, but he reminds farmers to be ready for both next year, especially corn rootworm and soybean cyst nematode. “I think we have to be cautious and plan for it to happen again.”
