According to a survey conducted by the American Soybean Association and United Soybean Board, 90 percent of the soybean acres in the survey were planted with seed treatments. Fungicides and insecticides are the most widely used seed treatments at 72 percent and 66 percent respectively. Only 34 percent of these acres were treated with a nematicide. With seed treatments so widely used, the two soybean groups said any disruptions in the availability of this technology would significantly change farming practices.
