The busy season has set in for Tri-County Stockyards and Perham Stockyards in central Minnesota. Lighter calves are seeing top prices this year. “We’re selling 400-550 pound steers bringing $3-to-$3.60 (per pound),” said owner Mitch Barthel. “Historically when I see big runs of calves in the first part of November that weighs on the market. This year, it doesn’t seem to weighing on the market as much.”
