Genetics, environmental conditions and management are the biggest factors for crop production. “The most challenging one is that the environment changes every year,” said Zach Fore, product agronomist, Pioneer. “This year, it looked like if you were pushing maturity that might have been a bad decision and it turned out not to be.” Fore told RRFN there is no right or wrong answer regarding the maturity if the decision is based on the best information available at the time.
