CARB to Vote on Manure Digester Incentives

Activist groups, including Friends of the Earth, are taking aim at the anaerobic manure digesters on California dairy farms. Since 2011, these dairies have been eligible for state incentives for using this technology. However, the environmental groups claim the availability of these manure digesters promotes the expansion of large-scale dairy farms. The California Air Resources Board is also considering additional regulations for methane emissions.
