The annual UAS Summit in Grand Forks brought together aviation and technology groups from around the country. “This is an opportunity for the Grand Forks region to really showcase all of the emerging developments here in the UAS industry,” said Kevin Hatcher, business development manager, Grand Forks Region Economic Development Corporation. “It allows us to showcase collaboration through Grand Sky, our legislators, UND and the technology sector.” With agriculture and aviation playing such vital roles within the region, Hatcher said it’s only natural for them to work together. “You can think of drones being able to do crop spraying or monitoring and surveillance for crop moisture or soil moisture, it’s exciting to say the least.”
