American Crystal Sugar Company shut down sugarbeet harvest on Tuesday morning because of the heat. the beet lifters were back in action Friday night. “We’ve been fortunate that we’ve had run time already,” said Travis Pederson, agronomy manager, ACSC. “With the dry conditions and warm weather, we’ve seen an uptick in the sugar content which would be expected.” Pederson also says the yields are in the low to mid-30 ton per acre range so far.
